Manuscripts
Lincoln’s Inn Library has a considerable collection of manuscripts. Not surprisingly, the majority of the items in the collection are legal manuscripts – case reports and opinions, legal treatises and statutes. The collection also contains a considerable collection of judge’s paper books (the case papers they used in Court) of four King’s Bench judges for the period 1770 – 1815. Early manuscript donations to the Library, however, included works on many subjects – Bibles, early English poetry and literature, science and theology.
