Items of interest recorded in this volume include:

  • Call to the Bench made conditional on taking the oath for the supremacy of Queen Elizabeth (fo. 109)

  • The order for a gardener’s shed to be built for the keeping of the garden and coney garth (fo. 133)

  • Everyone called to the Bench had to accept to do a Reading (or lecture) and pay for a lavish feast; failure to do so resulted in a fine and removal from the Bench (fo. 422)
